Borias and I are going to be featured on channel 8 news this Thursday, 7/24! They've been showing San Diego's most amazing dogs, to tie in with America's Greatest Dog on CBS, and they wanted to do a story on my boy. So make sure to keep an eye out for it if you want. We had a blast filming this! Shaun Styles interviewed me, and had me talk a little bit about Borias. In particular the feeling that his running with my chair really fast gives me. Boy, was it hard to put into words! Course, now I think of a few things, after the fact....
I've had people say they were sorry I couldn't walk, and was "stuck" in a wheelchair. I say that it's not bad, and in fact, it has it's perks! This is one of them. It's pure exhilaration to go at a running speed behind my dog.
We ran up and down El Prado going into Balboa Park's center a few times. The first pass, some jerk actually honked behind the news van while they were filming me. Then they got really irate, and kept honking over and over. If the camera wasn't on me...he he. I had a mic on, so they could record how I talk to him as he pulls me. (This should be interesting for me to watch!) Then they got the reactions of some people who saw us pass them.
One was so cool. A little boy said "I didn't see nothin wrong with her at all". Out of the mouths of babes can come such pearls.
A big thanks to Shaun, and Mario the cool camera man, and to Barbara, exec producer of news 8!!! Can't wait to see it!

I hope the show helps let local people know about SDs. It might really help cut down on some of your access problems!

Thanks. Yeah, I hope so, at least for awhile. Though they didn't film him doing anything like picking up something I dropped. I kind of wanted to be shown at the zoo, just to let people see us in a place they would think would have the worst access criteria. But we go all the time.
