Forever In My Heart- Our Collaboration

I'm so excited about this project! In the past, I've done some 'Heart Dog' paintings, donating them to animal charities such as Pets Are Wonderful Support for silent auctions. People really dug them, and I got the idea to start making them with the help of my dog. I wanted to use his actual paw print for that part of the design, thus adding his energy to the mix, and making them more unique and authentic.  A true collaboration between two partners!

The Animal Healing Center, where we get bi-weekly acupuncture and massage treatments for Borias, agreed to display one, along with an info sheet about the paintings, and how they can help with his treatments. So I got to work on my first one with him, a 12"X12" canvas with acrylics. I spread paint on the pad of Borias' front foot, and placed it at the right spot. It looked so cool, with  some of his fur making a mark, along with his unique shape.

The painting was up just a few days, when some orders started coming in. It goes right on our tab there, to help fund his treatments. And now I'm working on some larger ones, to put in a local pet boutique, and hopefully a few other venues.  I wrote a press release, polished with the help of a great writer friend, and have sent some out to local news sources.

Hopefully this is something that could take off...I so want to be able to have this collaboration help other animals, too. A portion of all sales going to various charities.  I definitely want to keep helping PAWS San Diego. There's a new organization called FACE, that helps people who can't afford it with emergency vet bills, who might otherwise have to put their beloved pets to sleep. And a rescue group would be awesome. There's so many, I have yet to decide.

I must say, though, I'm partial to one that's not local to me, A Place to Bark, in Tennessee. Bernie Berlin is a wonder woman of dog rescuers! I recently did an art piece for a booklet that's being sold to benefit this wonderful place. I got to meet Bernie and go out to dinner with some fellow pet photographers, and got to know more about her work. Very worthy organization. Check it out!

So, the details...these paintings come in sizes from 12"x12", to 3'X3', and are done with acrylics, finished with a glossy varnish. The colors can vary somewhat, but are done in shades of green, yellow and red. Some I make more earthy, some more bright and vibrant. The paw print is bright true blue. Prices start at $75.  Orders are usually finished within a week.

Email me at tamandborias@cox.net to make an order, or if you have any questions.
Here's the sizes/prices

18X18 $125

I am so thrilled to have found your blog. I know only too well what a true ♥dog is - how it feels when you touch him - how it feels when he's right there with you - how he smells when he comes back into the house, his fur filled with the odor of fresh air. I know the bark and the walk and the warmth.

I lost my heart dog in 1997 but I was fortunate enough to love one again in 2001. Sadly she left me much too soon as a result of an acute onset illness. Now, here I am again, another little lady in my lift that has wrapped my heart about her soul.

I'll be coming back. After all, one thing that pleasures someone who knows what loving a GSD truly can be is admiring the love of another for her dog and knowing the depth of that relationship.

BTW, count me in on one of those heart paintings. I'll put it on the wall with the portraits of Tony and Starr. My current girl is Freyja.

Wow! Great response so far!! I added a price list and my email at the end of the post. I think what I'll do is make a page for this on my photography blog, which is Wordpress, with a PayPal link for each one. Or if it's easier to just email, that's great, too.
Thank you everyone!
